Moon Fun Facts

In searching for fun facts about the Moon I came across the fun fact in our image above. However in further research it looks to be believed and disputed by several parties. It has been disproved by the fact that no fossils have so far been found on the moon. Fossils would easily tie the connection to Earth at one time. What do you think?

The Moon is said to be 4.5 billion years old.

The Moon is about 240,000 miles away from Earth.

On average the Moon moves at 2,288 miles per hour around Earth.

The average surface temperature of the Moon is 107 degrees Celsius during the day and -153 degrees Celsius at night.

The Earth’s tides are largely caused by the gravitational pull of the Moon.
